OLD DOWN MANOR WEDDING FOR STEPH & SHAUN
We had been looking forward to photographing an Old Down Manor wedding for a while so you can imagine how excited we were when Stephanie and Shaun booked us for their wedding at Old Down.
Steph and Shaun’s wedding started in Portishead where we met up with Steph and her bridesmaids to photograph the bridal preparations. There wasn’t far to go for the ceremony as it was at St Peter’s Church literally round the corner from the house. The female vicar really took a shine to Steph’s wedding dress so much so that she insisted that she do a ‘twirl’ in front of the congregation which went down very well with everyone.
When we arrived at Old Down Manor following the ceremony the low winter sun was basking the venue in golden light. This was the perfect opportunity to capture some portraits of Steph and Shaun especially considering that any later and the light would be fading. Old Down Manor is an ideal location for wedding photography as it boasts well kept gardens with views looking out to the Severn Estuary. Should the weather take a turn for the worse, the interior is so nice and light photographing indoors is definitely not second best.
With Steph and Shaun back indoors we had plenty of photo opportunities to capture the guests enjoying themselves at the drinks reception. As the wedding party began to assemble in order to make their way to the wedding breakfast there was more opportunities for documentary style photographs.
As we said our goodbyes there was one photo I couldn’t resist taking of the Manor as the sun began to set in the background. We had a great time photographing Steph and Shaun’s Old Down Manor wedding and a special mention should go to the team at Old Down Manor who were so efficient, friendly and professional throughout the day.
Kind words from Steph & Shaun:
Thank you both so much for our stunning wedding photographs. We are over the moon with them all and can’t stop looking at them! They captured the day perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for more. We will be sure to recommend you to our friends and family.
