Frequently asked questions

The following information will help you find out more about us and the wedding photography service we provide.

How do you describe your style?
I take a friendly and relaxed approach to wedding photography, discreetly and unobtrusively recording moments as they unfold. I capture the people, places, emotions, details and above all the spirit of your day.

Can we meet you to discuss our wedding photography?
Certainly! It is important for us to meet and discuss your wedding day, and for you to view our recent wedding photos and some sample albums.

Do you take any group shots?
Absolutely, I feel it is important to take a small number of group shots. Limiting the number to 5 or 6 photos, and asking an usher or bridesmaid to help gather the guests ready for the shots means they can be done as quickly as possible. You may also like to consider including a large group shot of all the guests.

What about posed photographs?
I like to arrange a small 15-20 minute portrait session with the bride and groom, taking place between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast and usually at the reception venue. Taking a few moments with you away from guests allows me to capture some relaxed and natural photos of you both which will look great in your album.

We would like to order an album, how does the album design process work?
Jo will design the layout of your album or coffee table book, including a mixture of photos of spontaneous moments, natural portraits, and the little details that tell the story of your wedding day. A PDF proof will be emailed to you to check and approve prior to printing. At this stage, if you wish, you can change any photos. Then, once you are happy with it, it will be sent away to be printed and will be ready in about 3-4 weeks.

Are you a member of any photographic institutes?
I have been awarded a Licentiateship of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain, and am also a member of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP).

Do you require a booking fee?
A £300 booking fee is required to secure your wedding date and the balance is due 30 days before your wedding.

Do you have insurance?
I have both public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.

Do you carry spare equipment?
Yes, I carry back up cameras and equipment, just in case.
